We live in zone 6a and I have been gardening and cooking for years. This blog is an opportunity for me to share with you my success and those failures that come about on occasion. Plus, I want to hear from all the gardeners and bakers and cooks out there and learn from you. Feel free to share your ideas.

Eastern Redbud Tree Planted

We had 2 trees taken down in the back which left a big open space to be filed in. I love redbud trees and found just the right one this weekend. I a very picky when it comes to these trees. I usually want at least 3 branches and a nice upright shape. Well I found the perfect specimen and it now has been planted. Hopefully it will do well.

Fall is the effect time to plant a tree around here. Here is hoping that we will get some flowers on it next Spring.

  1. No pictures? Dang, I love redbuds, but they don't do well here. Our Fall isn't here yet but it will be and I have a list of trees I want to plant. I've usually done it too late in the spring and it's a struggle. I know Fall is best and this year I'm going to do it! Thanks for the reminder, ha.

  2. My thought is that a picture this Spring shows a redbud off best. So stay tuned. But it may take several years until it flowers.
