We live in zone 6a and I have been gardening and cooking for years. This blog is an opportunity for me to share with you my success and those failures that come about on occasion. Plus, I want to hear from all the gardeners and bakers and cooks out there and learn from you. Feel free to share your ideas.

Top Hat Blueberry Bush

I purchased a top hat blueberry bush which can be planted in a large container. Our soil is not acidic and planting this bush in a container will make it easier to manage: making sure it maintains an acidic soil base. Plus I hope I can keep it away from the deer since it will be be located on our brick patio.

  1. I have 3 blueberries. No idea the variety. 2 were planted 4 years ago and were constantly nibbled down by the bunnies that own our yard. No deer so far!

Last Fall, I got a blueberry from a nursery that was closing so I transplanted EVERYTHING into the protected space of the garden.

I'm really hopeful that we might actually get some berries this year,

    1. Do you check your soil to make sure it was acidic enough?
